MEET THE TEAM
BART
Jim “Bart” Bartelloni is a Naval Academy graduate and former Rugby player. He cut his teeth in the military as a Naval Aviator, flying F-14’s and graduating from the US Navy Fighter Weapons School (Topgun). The opportunity to relocate to San Diego brought the chance to learn SUP surfing. After attending the Sup ‘n’ Surf retreat he made the decision to bring these opportunities to veterans with the hope they enjoy the same unique experience he has continuing to improve at SUP Surfing. When not doing business development in the Healthcare Services space he can be found at Pipes in San Diego working on his bottom and top turns or blogging @bartscharts. He is married with four amazing children.
WHIT
Richard “Whit” Whittington is a born/bred Louisiana boy, who is most likely to be found in a duck blind or deer stand. However, as West Point Grad, Army Football Player, and former Infantry Officer, Whit has a passion for service and a soft spot for veterans. Exemplifying this commitment to service, Whit is active with numerous charitable organizations to include Rotary International. When forced to work, Whit is a healthcare technologist, entrepreneur, and small business owner. He has 2 boys and a black lab named Carl.
WES
Wesley “Wes” Spence was born and raised in Arizona. He thrived in the deserts and mountains of the 48th state, learning to shoot, hunt and fish from the age of six; a perfect environment for a future Navy SEAL. A graduate of the Naval Academy, Wes completed 25 years of active duty service as a Navy SEAL officer to include three tours in Afghanistan. He holds a special affinity for veterans, actively participating in veteran’s organizations and is a member of Rotary International. Wes loves just about any sport related to the ocean. He became an avid SUP (and “regular”) surfer later in life after discovering for himself the joy and thrill of paddling into the perfect wave. He’s married to his lovely wife, Gail, and they have two amazing daughters.
TIM
Tim Evnin is the first outside board member of the Foundation. He is passionate about SUP surfing and sharing the sport with others. He enjoys giving back to his community and excited to be working with veterans and to be part of the team making the SUP Veterans retreats a success. Tim has been in the investment business for over thirty years. He lives in NY and Rhode Island and loves being in the water in any season. Tim is married with two children. He often makes it look easy.
